Ready, Set, Sew!

Along with those tubs of fabric that I inherited, I also came home with a bolt of muslin.  No excuses now for not making a muslin.  Also since I want to take on learning to make some pants, this is going to come in handy!
To start off, I focused on taking some measurements and writing them down. I really never remember exactly, and that might be part of the problem!

So, with my pattern traced for cigarette pants, I quickly put together the muslin.
This is the point that I leave this project for the night.  Tomorrow, we start the fitting process!  Eek!

2015 preliminarily projects

Now that I know what fabric I already own, I wanted to plan out what I want to make this spring.  I inherited two tubs of fabric and a half tub of notions a few months back and had to also get those sorted out.

Not sure what was going on here but this is one angry piece of fabric!
And I have a bunch of patterns I have been wanting to make, so now is the time!

Specifically I could use another pair of nicer pants so I think I will start there.

Here I go into my Spring sewing!

2015 Sew It Myself Challenge

I gave myself a goal for 2015 to sew myself any article of clothing I might need.  Why? Because this frustration keeps happening! To many clothes! I can't think of a single item that I would need to purchase!
And also because I need a reason to learn to sew some perfect pants!

I did finally get most of my laundry put away then I started on my sewing room.  It wasn't in much better shape. It had become the catch-all.  I was still sewing in there even with it looking like this! Yikes!
A few hours, I mean days, and a sore back later I sewed up some new curtains and we had a wonderful transformation :)

It feels like an adult room now!  So wish me luck and I hope the fun of clothes shopping doesn't win out!
